          Antireflection Coated Laser Windows

          High surface quality, low scatter windows with one or two antireflection coatings for high power use and maximum beam control.  Ideal for output coupling and sample or vacuum chamber windows.

          Wedge options: 10 arc sec or 30 ± 5 arc min

          Diameters from 12.7 – 101.6 mm standard, others custom

          Thicknesses from 1.0 – 12.7 mm standard, others custom

          Uncoated Window Substrates

          Controlled wedge or ultra-low wedge options to minimize angular deviation of the transmitted beam and reduce alignment errors.  High surface quality and low wavefront distortion; suitable for achromatic beam sampling and sample or vacuum chamber windows.

          Wedge 10 arc sec for circular substrates

          Wedge 5 arc min for square or rectangular substrates

          Low wedge option: 30 ± 5 arc min

          Uncoated Wedge Prisms

          Used to control deviation of an incident beam and eliminate stray beams due to back reflection.  Applications in interferometry, quality testing of optics, and output coupling for high gain and sensitive lasers.  Two wedge prisms can be combined for continuously variable beam steering through a cone of angles.

          Low wedge option: 30 ± 5 arc min

          Large wedge options: 1° or 3°

          Thicknesses from 3.175 – 12.7 mm standard, others custom

          Uncoated Right-Angle Prisms

          Used for routing a collimated beam of light through 90° or 180° via total internal reflection, depending on orientation.  Also used for image rotation, for retroreflection, and as an external reflector.  Broadband performance with choice of antireflection coatings.

          N-BK7 and UV-grade fused silica catalog options

          Dispersing Prisms

          Used to separate a beam of light into its component wavelengths, or to add dispersion to a system.  Often used at the minimum deviation angle so that incident and exit angles are equal, prism magnification is one, and reflection losses are low.

          High-quality surface polish for use in high power applications

          N-BK7, UV-grade fused silica, N-F2, and Suprasil 1 catalog options

          Equilateral prism has more dispersion; isosceles prism has better p-polarization transmission

          Available for narrow and broad wavelength bands from UV through near-IR, but prism interface can limit power handling (if epoxy is used for bonding).

          Plate Polarizers

          Best for high energy applications, provided that broadband performance is not needed.  Minimal impact on beam quality (lowest TWE, low wedge, high surface quality).

          Cube Beamsplitters

          Bonded interface avoids beam displacement, but interface can limit power handling (if epoxy is used for bonding).  Ghost reflections are reduced, but still present.

          Beamsplitter Assembly

          High energy continuously variable beamsplitters combine a half-waveplate and polarizing beamsplitter, to achieve variable attenuation of the transmitted light.

          Transmission range = 1 - 95%, p-polarization

          Continuously variable for precise control of transmission

          High power applications (5 J/cm2 @ 1064 nm)

          Plano-Convex Cylindrical Lenses

          Used to condense light in one dimension only.  Positive cylindrical lenses can focus input collimated light to a line, transform a point of light to a line image or change the aspect ratio of an image. Useful for laser line focusing, laser projection, anamorphic beam shaping, and illumination of slit and line detector arrays. 

          Plano-Concave Cylindrical Lenses

          Used to expand light in one dimension only. Negative cylindrical lenses diverge input collimated light away from a line. Useful for laser line generation, anamorphic beam shaping, and one-dimensional compression of images.

          Achromats

          Used to focus two or more wavelengths at the same point in the image plane.  Reduced spherical aberration and coma.  Well-suited to broadband applications like astronomical telescopes, plasma spectroscopy, biomedical instrumentation, and laser beam steering.  Also ideal for use at single wavelengths, as performance is far superior to simple singlet lenses.

          Aplanats

          Used with monochromatic light to generate the minimum focal spot size by eliminating coma and spherical aberrations.  Diffraction-limited performance.  Ideal for nonlinear optics, laser beam expansion and collimation, interferometers, materials processing, and fiber optic coupling.      

          Objective Lenses

          Achromatic or aplanatic lens systems designed to operate at lower f/numbers.  Used for collimation and focusing of laser beams, visual inspection, and microscopy.

          Beam Expanders

          Adjustable beam expanders used to increase or decrease beam diameter.  Compact Galilean design.  Used for illumination, laser communications and alignment, and light focusing.

          Shear-Plate Collimation Testers

          Ideally suited to assess and adjust the collimation of laser light. Composed of a high quality λ/20 optical flat mounted with a viewing screen, these shear plates allow rapid visual wavefront analysis via interferometry. They can be used to measure the wavefront radius of curvature and power of long focal length optics, and for evaluation of wavefront symmetry or aberrations.
